My wife and I had stumbled on Wright-Patnam Park several years ago while passing through Texarkana, TX. We walked through the Piney Point campground and loved the feel of the campground, specifically the tall pines that lend their names to the campground. We were particularly taken with site A15. It sits on the edge of the campground overlooking the lake.
So cut forward four years later when we were traveling through Texarkana again with our trailer and booked site A-15 for two nights. The sunsets were gorgeous. Only drawback was the low but constant drone of a water pumping station several hundred yards away. However I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Nice camp with great views and excellent camp hosts. We had a pull through site with great views of the lake. Our 31 foot motorhome and toad just fit. Our old motorhome which was a 36 foot would have had to disconnect. Site pads are in need of resurfacing. Good power, good water pressure. Nice patio area with table fire ring and BBQ grill.

Absolutely beautiful wooded campground. Amazing sunset views. We have a 35 foot fifth wheel and some of the spaces would be a little tight to get into so pay attention to the site sizes. Some sites set ups offer more privacy than others. The camp posts were fantastic! Very friendly and very helpful. Great place to go if you enjoy nature. We thoroughly enjoyed the hiking trail to Rocky point campground. We also brought our bikes in biked around quite a bit. There’s not a whole lot to do in Texarkana outside of the park. But that’s the way we like it!

We always love our stay at Piney Point. It is the top park on our list of many Corp parks we stay at. Rangers and staff are always a pleasure to visit with. The gate keepers you have now are awsome.

The grass was over knee deep, needed to be mowed very badly. Made the mesquitos horrible.
