Rocky Point at Wright Patman Dam is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained campgrounds, spacious sites, and friendly staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families and campers. Visitors appreciate the scenic views of the lake, clean facilities, and family-friendly amenities like playgrounds. While some noted issues with overgrown grass and restroom closures, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Some of the park's 50amp areas are closed during the Winter season. On New Years weekend, we found a very nice 50amp spot on the lake in the "C" section, that overlooked the lake. C8. Back in spot. Nice, long, level spot. Definitely, long enough for our motorhome & Jeep. We've visited this park several times over the years. Very good park. The staff that we encountered during our recent visit, were very pleasant and helpful. We don't use the park's shower/restrooms, so can't comment on those. The park's power supply is very good. We use our onboard water, but the water supply in our RV spot was very good. There's a Loves Travel Stop very close to the park, and this time, we stopped there to top off our RV gas tank before arriving at the park, but, in the past, have used it to top off the tank when leaving the area. Texarkana is about 10-15 minutes away from the park. There's plenty to do and explore in Texarkana. Atlanta, Texas is just to the south from the park (with grocery stores, Walmart etc). Rocky Point at Wright Patman Lake is a very nice park. Good for walks through the area, and plenty of stars can be seen on clear nights (especially, from the C area of the park), while overlooking the lake. We're in a motorhome, pulling a Jeep, and there are places (once you pull through the entry) to unhook a pull vehicle. I recommend to pull up to the stop sign, take a left and on the left is a lengthy parking area, to unhook a tow car. Leaving Rocky Point, we hooked up the Jeep to the motorhome in a parking lot near the disc golf course area. Clean park. Good service. Watch out for deer, when driving in this area, though.
