Dog Canyon was quiet and peaceful. The campsite was clean and neat. Bathroom facility with flush toilet is excellent and very clean. The volunteer camp host David was very helpful and gave us hints on our hike to Lost Peak. The Wifi signal at the ranger station was strong. Zero cell service. If you are looking for solitude and quiet, this is the place for you. We will definitely be back to Dog Canyon.

The campsite is absolutely lovely! The host is great and the facilities were very clean. Easy to access hiking trails from the campground as well. The only thing to be aware of is how far it is. It’s definitely remote and they are not joking about making sure to have enough gas and supplies. Also make sure to put in the campground itself on your gps to get the more accurate estimation on time. I would also recommend getting in before dark if you can, as the view on the way to the campground is gorgeous!

This is a very remote destination, with the 60+ mile road ending at the campground. Come prepared and enjoy a very special place. The campground is small - a very personal size. Facilities are excellent, everything you need in a compact location. Best of all was the park ranger on duty: super helpful and friendly, he helped facilitate my staying an extra night. He was also helpful in looking at the map and hiking trails, with suggestions. First class operation in an end-of-the-world location.
