The howling winds in the canyons at night are glorious. Campground is shockingly modern and very well kept. Honestly, I’m not sure we deserve running water and flush toilets this deep in the high desert country. Rangers are the best.

When you really want to go CAMPING !
Be ready to get remote and offline if office is closed.
Be ready for a fairly long drive on single lane two way mountain roads. They though in great condition.
This National Park is high elevation but not nose bleed high for the campground and park. Though hiking can get you up there!!
Nice trails also! Great drinking water taste and bathrooms that flush!
Just smartly placed in the North Guadalupe Mountains of NEW MEXICO and Texas.

The drive to the campground is beautiful Stargazing was phenomenal.
Site and facilities well-maintained. It's very isolated so be comfortable with that.
