What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

The gate host was very helpful. We enjoyed all the amenities at our campsite such as covered picnic table. The grounds were well-maintained. I love that you’re not on top of your neighbor.

Water level was 6ft low and boat ramps were closed. Dead carp were all over the Buzzards swarmed the exposed coast. It stank and the mosquitoes were exceptionally bad. I wish some of this was posted on the website. I would have waited until better conditions.

I typically enjoy the facilities and staff. To make a short story we had arrived two hours early and we had three anxious boys wanting to get out of the van and see the sights. We asked if we could park at one of the trails and go for a hike untill our site was available. The lady at the reservation booth seemed a little bothered for us asking to use the trails. She stated that we can't enter the park and we would have to come back at 3pm. She didn't have much information on what we could do in the area to buy some time. Looking at Google Earth we saw that Nails Creek State Park had a facility that allowed entry. The staff at Nails Creek seemed to be much more friendly and helpful on which trails offered hike the best wildlife scenery.

Website doesn't disclose boat ramps are closed, water 30' low, not speaking of the fire ants, campsite very small.

We had a site right on the water and it was fabulous. Campsite was clean and there was good fishing right behind our trailer! The park is also campers only, so the park was not overrun with day users, which was also great.

It was a great place, we were on the water and even tho it was down the wind was blowing the waves upon the beach and as we were walking saw alot of deer. People were so nice, especially Mitch the guy who saw us through the gates.wonderful place to go.
