We were very disappointed! Had an emergency and our grandsons favorite once a year trip got shortened from 6 days to 2. I thought we could go out early since nobody was on our site and at least give them 2 days of swimming. They would not let us in or let us just park trailer and use lake for the day until 3 check in time. It was 100 outside, where were we to go with grandkids and two dogs, we couldnβt use lake???? She said I should have paid for the night before so I could come out early! It was an emergency, didnβt think about paying for a day and not really using it just so we could get in! Is it all about making $ now? I asked her if I could reserve it now and she said no. We had to go park trailer and truck in 100 degrees shade and wait several hours until check in time when the lake was available and so was our site!
People are now reserving camp sites as day use so they can come out for the day and nobody can camp there on the weekends because of the 3 check in and no day use!!!!
That is why we have to reserve our spot 5 months in advance. We witnessed this on two campsites on the weekend.

Great location, nicely wooded, Great Lake views.
Park infrastructure is very much in need of extensive TLC, which does not appear to be happening.
Utilities are good, strong power and water pressure.

Very relaxing. Would have 5 stars if they had sewer hookups. But they did have two dump sites, so we dumped when we left. It would have been more difficult if we stayed longer. Overall, a really nice campground on the lake.
