We had a wonderful stay at Basecamp Terlingua. We originally booked a tipi, but due to unseasonably cold weather, the team generously upgraded us to the Agave Casita, which we really appreciated.
The casita was clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, perfectly fitting the surrounding landscape. The outdoor fire pit was easy to use and quickly became our favorite part of the evenings; building a fire while watching the sunset was unforgettable.
Communication with the staff was excellent from start to finish. They were responsive and attentive throughout our stay, checking in when needed but never intrusive — a great balance that made us feel well taken care of.
It was unusually cold during our two nights, so while the heaters worked well, it was still chilly at times. That said, the space heater in the bathroom was a game-changer, especially during hot showers, and made warming up easy. Since we had originally planned to stay in a tipi, we brought extra blankets, though the casita also provided an additional blanket, which was appreciated.
As expected for such a remote area, the Wi-Fi was spotty, but that’s true throughout Terlingua and not specific to the property. It didn’t detract from the experience and honestly encouraged us to unplug and enjoy the setting.
Overall, we loved the beauty of the location, the peaceful setting, and how thoughtfully everything was done. The experience felt intentional, comfortable, and very much in tune with the desert environment. We’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the Terlingua / Big Bend area.

We loved our Bubble X, perfect for a couple. List for a family, but perfect for two adults. Enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire pit. Bed was extremely comfortable and the two split air conditioners, cooled you off during the day and heat for the cold nights. Star gazing was unbelievable. Loved all the outdoor space, outdoor shower. Suggestion for owner, more towels, better toilet paper, Kleenex. Maybe a few extra hooks in the bathroom. Suggestion for visitors, bring firewood (very expensive to buy locally). Also bring items if you want to make s’more or hot dogs. Bubble offers a small fridge and gas grill, however no utensils or plates. Worth every penny, fantastic trip. Don’t forget to eat at Venga.

The day before we arrived i received an email saying they needed to move us to another casita. After looking I realized the one offered didn't have a kitchen which we needed. The fold out couch was broken in our original casita ( Casa Adobe), trying to communicate with them that it wasn't an issue was very difficult. They do not communicate via phone, which hours before a stay is much more efficient than sparse email responses. I did get it sorted out. Got settled in and took a shower. The shower wasn't draining and had to turn it off, then we realized it was all the drains. I emailed to let them know. After 8pm a guy walked in the Casita with a slight knock before I could open the door we weren't fully dressed and it was startling. It was Riley the maintenance guy. I showed him the issue and it was decided he would come back in he morning to fix the septic issue. We went out to explore the park and returned to get a shower and nothing had changed. We were leaving the next morning so we used the outside shower but the temperature was a little cold after sundown. This place has a great location and its cool but the staff is not very helpful or understanding. If you have a problem you are kinda on your own as other reviewers have stated. Dont recommend, septic problems are serious.

This my 3rd time staying at this property. First year was 2 nights in a bubble and 2 nights in casa topo chico, perfect. Second year was 2 nights in the bubble and 1 night in casa topo Chico, perfect. This year we decided to stay in the campground. Location was great, but the electric hookup was out (i have to sleep with a cpap machine). Called maintenance and he was there very quickly. Fixed it. I had the best sleep. The restrooms and showers were perfect and clean. The coffee bar was great and clean. Thank you!! We are planning trip #4 there next year. See yall soon!!!

Bucket list! I loved every minute of our time in Terlingua and spending the night in the dome was awesome! Had no idea how beautiful Big Bend is! We ate several great meals there and the scenery was amazing! Went in a jeep tour with Far Flung and it was awesome also! 3 hours was plenty but I really enjoyed it!
