My husband surprised me with this awesome spot in Big Bend! I was blown away with how awesome it was, secluded, the Stars were Amazing and I even got to see the Milky Way!!
The Summit customer service was out of this world! We asked for a cord and they brought it to us within 5-10 minutes of asking through text message! These people think of EVERYTHING for your stay. Examples: Earplugs for the light sleepers, hot chocolate in the Keurig, firewood and fire starter kits, a good book to read, cute and comfy couch, flashlight, chairs and a fire pit outside your room, recommendations on what to do in the area, and much more!
Personally, I was a little nervous about the bathrooms not being in the room, but it was not that far of a walk and the path was lit really nicely for if you had to go at night time. The bathrooms were really nice and always clean!
My husband's key things for this trip was for us to have great hiking trails and stargazing! The hiking trails were perfect location right behind our dome! We did 3.5 trails- the mining one on hike up to the summit (very easy 5minutes go in the cave! So cool!), top of the summit (moderate- higher in elevation and incline but SO WORTH IT when you get to the top-luxury awaits you!), and the lonestar trail (very easy)! Driving up the mountain was super fun! We did it twice because it was so fun!
Yall! THOSE STARS WERE GORGEOUS!! 🌟 THE MILKYWAY was BEAUTIFUL! Everyone has to at least see the Milky Way one time in their life.
We will definitely be back!! We loved how friendly everyone was the guests and the people running the camp!
Our recommendations for stuff to do: Late night eats (9pm+): La Kiva (fun cave like restaurant with really yummy food and prickly pear margaritas!); Big Bend Art Studio sweet lady named Alice its her house and her studio; and Venga Cafe delicious food and smoothies; and GREAT ART!
I cant wait to come back to it and check out more of the park and hike more!! 🙌 Thank You @TheSummit for a fantastic stay and being super hospitable!! #BestBirthdayTripEver #WeekendGetaway #WellWorththe8hourDrive #SupportLocalArtists #BeFriendly #BeOutside #StargazingWithMyLove

We stayed in one of the geo domes at Summit at Big Bend and absolutely loved it. The dome was incredibly comfortable and thoughtfully set up with a heat/AC splitter, a full bathroom with shower and toilet, a dining space, and a relaxing loft area. It also included a small fridge, air fryer, coffee, and bottled water which made the stay really easy.

Outside, there’s a fire pit, hammock, and chairs that are perfect for sitting back and enjoying the incredible desert views and night sky. It’s also just a short drive to the summit where the sunset views are stunning.

One thing we especially appreciated was the text reminder encouraging guests to reduce light pollution so everyone can enjoy the stars (although it seemed like our neighbor may not have gotten the message!).

Overall, it’s a really special place to stay and a fantastic way to experience Big Bend. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay. The Summit provided everything we needed. Matches, fire started, fire wood, Keurig coffee machine, coffee pods, sugar packets, creamer, water, towels and a fan. I would use the fan to drown out the noise. We didn’t hear anything but our friends said they could hear kids playing late at night and early morning. They do have quiet hours 10pm-8am. I would definitely stay again!! Sunset, sunrise, and the stars were all breathtaking.

This is glamping at its best. The dome was very comfortable especially the bed. It was very hot during our stay and the ac worked great.

The toilets and showers were just a short walk away. The showers had nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

There are several outdoor kitchens that allow you to cook a wonderful meal.

We loved sitting around the fire every night enjoying the stars. It was so relaxing.

A few tips:

-It’s a bit of a drive to the grocery store and restaurants. We brought food to grill the first night and eat for breakfast every day. There is a mini refrigerator in the dome.
-Try to arrive during daylight as it’s a bit tough finding the individual domes in the dark.
-There are nice hiking trails on the property.

This was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Big Bend NP! It was definitely a luxurious glamping experience. The property and amenities were so cute and thoughtful. Even the one “negative” we had was a positive - the water turned off at our site and they responded to us incredibly quickly late on a Friday night and had someone out to fix it right away! There are neat mining caves you can visit and the property has a lot of history to explore. The stargazing here is unmatched. We were very impressed and will definitely be coming back!
