Overall our camping experience was very good. The only complaint is the sanitation/dumping station did not have any trash receptacles. We wear disposable gloves whenever we visit these stations when camping and therefore could not dispose of our gloves.

Good site with partial sun. Winter time is normally quite except on weekends. The restrooms are well maintained. The deer will graze if not too many people around. Beautiful sunsets and the lake looks good. Would recommend spending time here.

We love to camp at Loafers Bend west .......deer are plenty for my Grandchildren to see.......restroom is always clean and playground is kept trimmed!

Lofers Bend West offers nice views of Lake Whitney. In the summer, the waters of the lake are sheltered from prevailing southerly wind, offering a prime spot for waterskiers and wakeboarders. Winds can be kicking up rough water some one hundred yards out, but close to the bluffs, it's smooth glass! The park itself offers campsites near the water and others on the bluffs that offer welcome shade under the trees. There is also ample opportunity to hike along the shore toward the dam or through the park.
Lofers Bend is a place our family has enjoyed for some fifty years. We continue to enjoy it! Keep up the good work, USACE!

The campground was very quiet this time of year so we had the place to ourselves. Enjoyed riding our new ebikes thru the park sites. Watch KC Chiefs and enjoyed good appetizers at End Zone Sports Bar. The gate attendants were so friendly. The only negative is the dump station. The hose was old and leaking and there is no trash can. Would love to see an upgrade before our visit next time.

From I-35 in Hillsboro, take Hwy 22 west 12 mi to Whitney, continue 7 mi past Whitney, and turn right before dam. Follow park road to 4-way stop. Turn left for West Lofers or right for East Lofers.
Lofers Bend West is accessible via US Highway 377, approximately 10 miles to the east.
