We needed a 1 night stay at the last minute and it was getting dark. Campsite (#28) was available and easy to reserve online. The shower house was near and was clean enough. Sites are fairly close together. Campground seemed quiet, at least at night.

Beautiful park, been going for years. They have the best staff around! The only thing that really sucked was the burn ban that included charcoal grills, who likes to go camping and not be able to fire up the grill!

We love to camp here but this was the 1st time in this spot #23 and it was HOT IN THE MIDDLE of SUMMER ( lol who knew a bread box on wheels could hold that much heat huh?) Our AC wasn’t keeping up like we think it should’ve, so we bought a portable air conditioner and vented it outside and we were as good as new! Even better! We have no complaints about McCowan Vally Park and we will stay there often..My 2 year old granddaughter Loved all the deer and she had plenty of friendly neighbors to talk to ;)

Loved it (more so than spot #23) same amount of shade, in august heat, but we were able to cool it better because I got a portable ac unit to vent outside and we were great. If you have a iffy unit just skip August completely! Lol the park is great, neighbors are nice and always smiling and chatting with the 2 year old granddaughter, and lots of deer to watch. Great for kids or adults wanting alone time. We had both this Labor Day weekend and enjoyed every min of it !
