The bathroom facilities were in poor condition. When I showered the water wouldn’t drain so I would be standing in ankle deep water. Typically most campsite parks allow 2 cars per campsite but at McCown there was cars parked everywhere. In the grass, side of the road and it just seemed super crowded.

This is my favorite Texas park. It’s clean and well maintained. The park host was friendly, competent and flexible. The equestrian camps are well organized with water, electricity, showers, stalls and tie poles. There are miles of equestrian trails that are scenic, sandy and shady. I definitely recommend this park for your equestrian camping adventures!

We love this park. The people are friendly. I just wish they would have mowed and had the grounds more manicured

My site was so unlevel that my autoleveler could not level my trailer. Also, the grass was overdue for mowing. Otherwise. the park is pretty nice.

easter weekend 2022:
fire ban in effect. signage was not adequate. the one sign i saw needs visuals!
the non english speaking campers near my site ALL started campfires - in hard gusting winds. the children who did speak english did NOT know what "burn ban" meant.
use common English: No Campfires!

Please be advised that Field Grassburs exist in our parks. We are doing our best to implement a management plan to reduce the inundated areas. This plan may take several years in order to reduce the amount of Grassburs, but we are making every attempt to provide pleasant, safe, and healthy recreation opportunities. |
