East Fork (TX)

Campsite was overgrown. Went to the entry station and was told to track down a volunteer and request they mow it. They did come and mow Saturday morning, but only mowed our site and a few other empty sites. Left many other occupied sites unmowed and overgrown. At night bugs were bad, I am sure some were due to overgrown grass situation. Wish they took better care of the grounds. Other than that, no complaints.

This campground has so much potential and was probably pretty great back in the day, now it seems a bit tired and unkempt. If nothing else it needed a good mowing. The staff was pleasant and the restrooms were just okay. I would stay there again only as a convenient place to stop over since I have family near by.

Staff at check in was friendly, however this was worst Corp of Engineer site we have seen. Some areas of the park have been mowed, but where we were in space 14 hadn’t been moved in months. The other spaces had some true campers and some spaces looked like the had been occupied by campers that were living in the site even though there is a 14 day limit? The corp offices are just down the street and I wonder do they never come look at the place? The toilet seat in one of the restrooms was missing, no soap to wash hands, and the showers were barely functional due to years of hard water. Also finding the dump station outside the park was odd I thought. Anyone who wants can utilize it whether they stayed in the park or not. Did we manage? Of course, but it is not a place to stay more than a pass thru 1 night

Enjoyed my site. Noticed most sites that had trees near them needed trimming. Have complaints about this many times, but no action taken. Even trees over road very low, guess they don’t care if Air conditioners and vents get damaged on our rigs. Oh well!!!

Super friendly made this place great. From my first the staff made you feel welcome and appreciated. The sites are all roomy and can accommodate nearly every RV size there is. I saw pop-ups to 45’ Class A rigs so no problem. There weren’t sewer connections but one is available just outside the entrance gate and it was easily accessed. Just a great place to visit. The town of Wylie has all the major shopping and a cute downtown area is also quaint. Highly enjoyed my stay.

Love East Fork! Fishing is good at East Fork! If you need a marina there is one there for your boat.

This is our favorite park in North Texas - truly a hidden gem!

When bad weather changed our plans to be in the area, I tried to reschedule or cancel the reservation. I tried for over 1/2 hour to find a way to make any changes, but the site just kept running me around in circles. I ended paying for 2 nights that I couldn't use.

Nice and quiet.
