Such a beautiful campground! The bathrooms were immaculately clean. The rim trail is only a short walk from campsites and offers gorgeous views (plus its dog friendly!). Campground host was friendly and kept things looking beautiful. We also saw tons of bighorn sheep grazing around our campsite. We will definitely be back!

When I arrived at Canyon Rim I had made reservations for 3 consecutive days. All paid in advance of course. Unfortunately, the campground host had no record of my reservations and I had no sites reserved. Fortunately, the campground wasn't full and I was able to get one of the "First-come-first-served" sites, so I was not without a campsite after 1125 miles of driving from Iowa. Canyon Rim is one of my favorite National Forest campgrounds, as it is remote and quiet and while it has few amenities, the view of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge are spectacular.
Reservation mix-up aside, I had an enjoyable stay and would recommend Canyon Rim campground to anyone who doesn't need a lot of amenities to stay happy on holiday.

There was a little confusion about which site belonged to whom at the outset, but Jordan ironed that out and we had a pleasant stay at a wonderful campground. It included a visit by some bighorn sheep as we dined at our picnic table. Quite a highlight of our trip.

The campground itself is a wonderfully spaced-apart natural setting close to the rim of Flaming Gorge. We arrived at our reserved site to another family all settled into our spot. There were no signs posted for the reserved sites so they thought it was first come - first served. We let them know we had it reserved, and they were quick to move out. Another campsite next to us had the same issue of people in their reserved spot. For 24 hours there wasn’t any toilet paper replaced in the outhouse. The only time we saw the camp host in our campground was 10 at night when he went speeding through the campground.
