What Guests Are Saying
Gooseberry Creek Campground is a beautiful and peaceful location with clean facilities and stunning nature, including nearby lakes and streams ideal for canoeing and kayaking. Campsites offer amazing views and easy access to hiking and the river. However, booking early is essential, and some sites may not be as close together as expected; spiky weeds have also been noted as a concern.

quiet little campground. Book early to get a spot. The reservoir is perfect for canoeing or kayaking. It is a yearly camping trip!!

The campsites are beautiful and the bathroom facilities are usually pretty decent. Views are amazing and easy to hike down to the river. Easy, short drive over to the reservoir. We booked campsites 7 and 8 thinking they were next to each other. They are not, for future reference for those looking to camp with friends, best way to do it is to book 6 and 7 or 8 and 9. There is no Verizon signal. The reason I’m taking off a star is that the campsites have been invaded by spiky weeds that we had to keep the kids away from all weekend.

Beautiful campground! The cows and their manure were annoying since they were right in camp. Other than that it was a great trip.

Gooseberry is a beautiful area to camp. We started camping there when we were kids. The campground is well taken care of. Lots of space between campsites for privacy. There are not very many sites so book early and you will not be disappointed and if you have a large rv it is tight. We have a 22' trailer and it is easy to get in there. Campsites are dry camp. They do have water spigets around in the area. Its our favorite.

Sites aren't very private. There's no trash cans or dumpsters out here so you need to take your trash to the closest town. There aren't any hiking trails at the campground area and there was no fish presence in the reservoir.

We actually did not stay at the camp site. We got there and it turned out to be too small for our trailer. We also had family coming up for the day to spread our moms ashes at one of the upper lakes. Not ever being up there we had no idea it was so small. We found a larger site off the main road and stayed up there. It is a beautiful camp ground and if we every have a smaller vehicle we will be back to the camp grounds.

This place is a hidden gem, we stayed in the group site and had an amazing view of the valley leading into the reservoir. To our back was magnificent pines and aspen trees with sage and grasses all around. The bathrooms were clean and the road groomed, will definitely stay again and recommend.
