Indian Creek Guard Station

The Ferron reservoir in the Manti-La Sal forest is a piece of heaven on earth. Located at one of the highest points in Utah County, it's a must go for campers and enthusiasts. If you want to see nature up close, this is the place.
The Cabin located at the Indian Creek guard station is beautiful and we'll equipped. It's an ideal place to stay , camp , cook and enjoy the beauty of nature.
There is also a pit outside where you can grill your food and eat on the picnic tables provided for guests outside the lodge.
It has a rest room , bunk beds and a full service kitchen.
In short, it's beautiful and a must go place for everyone!

Great cabin! We had a blast and loved the location. It was harder to reach than other guard stations we've stayed at, and it was a little on the small side, but it was close to tons of lakes full of fish. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

We drove for miles and miles up the dusty canyon road. The landscape changed from irrigated farm land to desert scrub. Scrub faded way to small pines and oaks as we twisted and turned our way up the mountain. As we neared the top we spotted Ferron Resevior and a small camp ground with various rvs and atvs. A sign pointed to the left signaling we had arrived at our hideaway in the woods. The tall furs hid the cabin from view. As I opened the door and relished the smell of the fresh mountain air my wife and children thanked me for bringing them to such a beautiful place. I had been nervous about taking them to some place so remote. The cottage was clean and quaint. The perfect place to escape from modern life with your loved ones.

Excellent experience. The cabin is just as advertised.
I realize that the cabin doesn't officially have electricity; but with the solar panel, it does have some electricity. In 2018 when we stayed there, we seemed to have some electricity late into the night. In 2019, the electricity seemed to shut off at about 9pm each night. It would be nice to know the exact capabilities of the solar panel.

Suggestion: install another solar panel.

The cabin was terrific. It actually had solar power for the first two days and then it mysteriously ceased working. The setting was wonderful. We walked relaxed and just enjoyed being in the outdoors - but with most amenities of comfort.

Would stay at this place 1000 times over. Good fishing, great privacy, amazing wood burning stove. Power lasted all day/night.

Solar power was out, no one was able to make repairs. Hopefully this year,2020, cabin will have this problem resolved. Tough to prepare dinner in dark.

ANOTHER GREAT STAY, ALITTLE COLD, AND A FIRST FOR ME AFTER 35 YEARS OF CAMPING IN THE FERRON VALLEY, DRIVING IN A SNOW STORM, WITH NEW VISITORS, WHO WERE A BIT ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SEATS, ARRIVED AT THE CABIN, TEMPERATURE WAS 38 DEGREES AND TWO INCHES OF SNOW, NEW VISITORS FIRST FISHING TRIP. HAD A GREAT TIME, CABIN WAS COMFORTABLE, I THINK THE NEW VISITORS WILL BE A YEARLY RESIDENT. I FEEL GREAT KNOWING THAT I INTRODUCED THESE VISITORS TO THE GREAT EXPERIENCE OF CAMPING AND FISHING IN THIS AREA.

After a rainy, muddy but beautiful 3 hour 50 mile drive from Fairview to Ferron Reservoir We were glad to have such a nice, clean, with HOT shower, toilet and lights - place to stay. The wildflowers were beautiful, the fishing GREAT ( My husband caught a brookie) - We will definitely be back and bring our kids (bunk beds to sleep 5) now that we know that the cabin is awesome

This place is a dream. Beautiful views and peaceful respite. The cabin has a bathroom with a shower and flush toilet. There is a twin bunkbed set and a bunkbed set with a twin and a full. The cabin sleeps 5 in beds, but there is plenty of room on the floor for a few air mattresses. There is electricity in the cabin. There is a gas oven/range in the kitchen and no refrigerator, plan to use a cooler. There are limited cooking supplies. At check out it is your responsibility to clean the cabin, including mopping the floors. Be aware that there is no reception and no wifi.. Outside the cabin is a view of the lake. There is room for at least 3 tents, and there is a small outhouse close by. There is a picnic table and a fire pit. A beautiful and comfortable spot. It's the best of both worlds, comforts in the cabin and camping outside. Highly recommend.
