What Guests Are Saying
Twelve Mile Flat Campground offers beautiful views and is well-suited for large groups, making it ideal for family reunions and outdoor activities like fishing and hiking. While some sites have slopes that can be challenging for tent camping and there are concerns about maintenance and pricing, overall visitors enjoy their experience and appreciate the clean facilities. Many are eager to return despite some minor drawbacks.

The picture shows a nice flat space, it is not. The only flat spot on this space is where the table is or where you park your car. There is a 45degree slope from the table area into the lower area. Great if you have a 2 man tent but nothing bigger.

We have been coming to this spot for years. For the most part, a good time is had by all. The campground could use some updating and maintenance.

We have a great time at Twelve Mile Flat Campground. The group site does accommodate our large group. It would be nice to have water available at the campground.
Overall, we have a great time there.

I think it's way expensive to charge someone $58 for a reservation when I can pay $20 when I get to the site . Thats almost double . Not again .

When staying at Twelve Mile Flatt campground I had to constantly keep the cows out of my campground. This area is open range for cows and can cause problems. Also, the water had been turned off and this was still in the summer months. If camping here keep in mind that this area can be messy, especially if you have a dog.

We have enjoyed this group and surrounding areas for our annual family reunion for many years. Great location near many great fishing areas, hiking spots and ATV trails.

Really beautiful views in any direction you looked. Camp site #8 is where we were. Short distance to the restrooms, which were very clean. The site was kept in good shape and the picnic table and fire pit were both in the shade.
Site #8 specifically had quite a bit of a slope to it, so it was a bit of a challenge to find a flat spot for a tent.
Would love to come to 12 mile flat again in the future!

Very beautiful area! Once you hit the dirt road coming from Mayfield, it’s 20 miles on a dirt road and will take an hour to get to the top where Twelve Mile Flat is located. The turns get pretty steep especially when you’re towing a trailer. The steep parts have wash board marks from other vehicles, so your car shakes like crazy and it makes it a bit more challenging to get up the hills. Lots of blind corners, so go slow and stay on your side of the road. The drive down doesn’t seem as steep, but it does still take the same amount of time. It wasn’t super busy which was nice. We saw a ton of wild life, and there are all kinds of ponds you can drive to within a few miles from the campgrounds. The campgrounds are well taken care of, and are very quiet at night even with the camp sites right next to each other. People do drive a bit fast around the campgrounds so just keep your kids and pets off the roads and stay cautious of others driving on their RZR’s & 4 wheelers.
Overall, very beautiful place. Spectacular views and well maintained area! We came from SLC so I’m not sure we’d come again though just because it is quite a far drive. But, I’m glad we have been at least once.
