THE HOSTS ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE. EXCELLENT HOSTS.
BUT CURRANT CREEK HAS SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
1) ALL SITES ARE NOW RESERVATION ONLY. THAT'S TERRIBLE. MY WORK SCHEDULE VARIES -- WHICH MEANS I CANNOT GO TO CURRANT CREEK AGAIN BECAUSE I MUST HAVE A RESERVATION.
YOUR NEW 'RESERVATION ONLY' SYSTEM IS MEAN. GO BACK TO THE OLD WAY -- SOME SITES WITH RESERVATIONS, OTHERS ARE WALK IN.
2) ALSO. CURRANT CREEK IS NOW A LAWLESS PLACE. FOREST SERVICE NEEDS TO ENFORCE THE RULES.
A) PEOPLE PUT UP TENTS RIGHT WHERE THERE ARE 'NO CAMPING' SIGNS.
B) TRUCKS DRIVE BEYOND FISHERMENS PARKING -- RIGHT OVER THE GRASS AND BUSHES -- AND PARK FOR THE DAY AT THE EDGE OF THE WATER.
C) MOTORHOMES PARK FOR THE WEEKEND RIGHT ON THE ROAD. ENFORCE THE RULES.

One of the better National parks I have visitied. Nice, quiet and extra clean bathrooms. Fishing was bad.

We have been going to Currant Creek since it was built. We love it there. Our last trip was OK, but the fishing was slow (not your department). It does seem like ever year we go there are new rules, but are needed because people don,t know how to behave. We always see lots of animals and over the years our family has hunted Deer and Elk all over that area. Had a good time in August. David and Bonnie Maw

From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 45 miles to the Currant Creek Junction. Turn off the highway and travel in a northwest direction approximately 17 miles to the campground. The road from the highway is paved for 10 miles and graded gravel for 7 miles.
Stay on the most traveled road. When there are Y's in the road, stay on the road on the east side of Currant Creek, following the Creek to the dam. When you get to the dam, follow the road almost all the way around the reservoir, and you will find the campground near the southwest end of the lake, a short distance from the dam.
Alternate Route:
Take US Highway 40 from Heber City and travel approximately 22 miles southeast to FS Road 082 (Coop Creek Road). There is a Coop Creek sign on the north side of Highway 40. Turn north (left) at the sign and travel approximately 8 miles north. At that point there is another sign for Currant Creek Campground. Turn right at the sign and travel approximately 6 more miles east and south to the campground.
Currant Creek Campground is accessible via US Highway 40, which is approximately 22 miles from Heber City. From Highway 40, the campground can be reached via FS Road 082 after turning onto Coop Creek Road.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Reservations for sites must be made at least 5 days in advance; first-come-first-served sites must be claimed in person.
- For Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest info, call Heber Ranger District or Utah Recreation.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- Camping fees cover boat launch, day use, and dump station access.
- Extra vehicle fee is $10 per day; firewood costs $9.
- Discounts require a Senior or Access pass; proof is needed at arrival for discounted bookings.
Wildlife & food storage
- Store food and trash securely to prevent attracting bears; violations may incur fines up to $5,000.
Pets
- Pet owners must control dogs on leashes, clean up waste, and limit to two dogs per site; dogs must not threaten others or damage property.
Safety & rules
- Follow campground rules including gate hours, quiet hours, site boundaries, occupancy limits, and leave no trace principles.
- Minimum stay is two nights on weekends and three nights on holiday weekends.
- Users assume responsibility for accidents or injuries and the loss of valuables while using the facility.
Utilities
- Hooking trailers, campers, or RVs to spigots or restroom power is prohibited, even for medical devices.
Cancellation policy
- No refunds for weather; cancellations within 24 hours incur full fee forfeiture and a $10 fee; no-shows incur a $20 fee.
