What Guests Are Saying
Singletree Campground is a well-maintained, serene location with beautiful wooded settings and friendly camp host Sandy, who provides excellent service and support. Campers appreciate the clean restrooms, spacious sites, and amenities like a dump station and potable water, making it a great alternative for exploring nearby Capitol Reef National Park. While some noted the lack of showers and occasional noise from group sites, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

This is a nice, well maintained high elevation campground. The sites were mostly level and spacious. I would recommend examining the layout of each site to be sure it meets your needs. A few of them were size- appropriate for RV’s but had the table/fire pit on the “wrong” side for this purpose. It was mostly quiet but somewhat close to the busy Highway 12. Most campgrounds in the area close very early in the season so it was nice to have one still open mid-September.
Several people recommended the waterfall hike from the campground. It’s gorgeous scenery but be aware the trail is not maintained and the bottom half is very steep.
The camp host was friendly and helpful.
There were no issues with bears in the campground, I think a testament to the consistent handling of food and trash.
The area has great opportunities for scenic driving on and off highway. Lots of cattle on and near this open-range highway.

Lovely well maintained National Forest campground, Bathrooms with flush toilets were very clean. Trash was near our site. Our campsite was a back-in and large. We were in 23 on inside with a meadow. Outside slots were lovely with forest views. Generator use was 6-10 daily. Most did not utilize. No cell service without our Starlink set up. Very quiet campground. You could slightly hear the road, but became background white noise to us. Table was in need of replacement. Wood was available at Host site. Host was knowledgeable and very helpful. Some mixed messages on dumping…free on one posting at station $10. We paid because it was worth it, in a very affordable campground. 30 minutes to Capital Reef National Park. But after seeing the sites there I was happy we were not in the National park campground. What a view we had driving over each day!

nice campground, quiet and alot of open campsites around us so did not feel crowded.
Bathrooms were clean- could have used a sink in the bathroom.

Singletree was so much cooler than any of the surrounding areas around Labor Day. Being high up in the mountains among large pine trees is really nice. It’s a nice campground with a flush toilet that was clean when I was there. Campground host was great and she had wood for sale on site. Totally awesome. We were one of only 5 people camped in the loop yet all of the other sites were reserved for multiple days. But none of the people ever showed. Not sure why or if that’s common here? Definitely worth talking to the host even if you see reserved signs, there very well may be a spot for you.
This really was a great campsite. Plenty of room for tents. If I were to come back I’d pick one of the sites directly across from this one on the other part of the loop. There were some really nice views back that way behind that bathroom area. If you’re looking for some relief from the heat or just want to be higher up in the mountains, this is definitely a nice spot to stay. The group camps were full and close to the road area. I’d definitely try to stay in the outer ring of the loop if you can.

Great spot, nice camp host, clean bathrooms (flush toilet), great set up with fire pit and a stand up grill, liked the table, and dark sky approved.

We really liked this campground. Very quiet, and much cooler than down the hill in the national parks.
Easy access to Capitol Reef and some interesting dirt trails nearby to take and explore. The short hike to the waterfall was nice but pretty steep for those that might not be very stable. We did get concerned about the host telling us that all fires were ok, when the Forest Service signs on the highway showed that the fire danger was "very high". There were lots of open, wood fires in the campground and the wind was howling... unsettling for sure.
