What Guests Are Saying

Lower Bowns is a great, remote, and quiet campsite with clean facilities, including a pit toilet, fire pits, and picnic tables. It offers a nice fishing hole and spacious lots for camping. However, access involves a steep, rutted road, and many campers may prefer dispersed camping nearby due to potential interruptions from ATV users.

This ended up being a great, remote, QUIET site, but BEWARE the road down to this campground is steep, rutted and 3 miles long! And just to get to the entry road, Highway 12 climbs a steep mountain. Once you get there it's great, with a nice fishin hole (trout) and level lots with firepit/table. One clean pittoilet bathroom as well.

The actual site was very clean and well taken care of. It includes a pit toilet, fire pit, and several tables. No other hookups or facilities. It’s more of a group day site as there are only a couple places for RVs and maybe 5 tent sites. My real problem with the site is there is no real benefit to booking it. The area has tons of dispersed camping. You will be surrounded by tons of other campers in the dispersed camping areas who will be constantly wandering into the site on their ATVs and using the toilet. We were constantly interrupted during our 3 day stay. Save your money and just use the dispersed camping.

Great campsite. Way larger than I imagined and plenty of room for all of us.

Great campsite with beautiful surroundings. The reservoir was fairly high with lots of folks fishing and boating. Went for a walk around the area, hiking up into the hills overlooking the reservoir. A peaceful and relaxing place to recharge.

It is beatiful little well kept campground but cannot recommend because the ground surface is literally paved with all sizes of ants. Had to walk my dog but otherwise could not step out of my trailer
