Absolutely loved my time at this campground. Loved the location and great views. It was a quick drive up to the Visitor Center to take the shuttle to the Quarry. I wound up spending most of my day over on the Colorado side of the monument, doing the hikes in the canyons region of the park. That area is about a 30 minute drive from the green river campground, so I found it best to make a day of it there, then come back to Green River for dinner and to settle in for the night.

While the weather was all over the place, this campground was great. It is close to the Quarry Visitors center and the Quarry exhibit. The restrooms were clean and maintained. The camp host, Megan, was very helpful and friendly.
I highly recommend the Sounds of Silence trail, but it is more advanced than it would seem at the beginning. Wear sturdy boots! If the weather was better, I would have combined it with the Desert Voices trail. Bring a $1 for the trail guide, or buy one at the Visitors Center--it was worth it.

We stayed in site 46B the night of 09/12/20 and had a lovely time. Hiked that day and got tickets to visit the dinosaur quarry the next morning, which was awesome! The star gazing was incredible and we could easily see the Milky Way! The bathrooms were nice and clean and the individual camp sites seem to be spaced out enough. We hope to have a little more time to hike and explore next time we visit.

Easy access, not crowded, private fcfs site on second day. Late season minimal traffic. Stunning park. Clean restrooms, good water supply, pleasant camp hosts.
Campsite no view of river - ok. I'll share that campsites against rock/hill (furthest from river) looked nice, private, desirable.

This was our 2nd visit to this campground. It appears to get worse with each visit. CG photos mislead you. There is virtually no shade available here because they have severely cut back the trees. So, it's hot as hell and windy. There are some good hiking trails available, but be sure to start early to avoid overheating, and take plenty of water.

This park/campground is off the beaten path and therefore the visitors are pretty motivated to get there and therefore appreciate the beauty and solitude it offers.

Large sites, quiet surroundings and clean restrooms. Lack of a dump station or shower facilities brought the rating down to four stars.
