What Guests Are Saying
Split Mountain Group Campground offers spacious sites, clean facilities, and a beautiful landscape ideal for group gatherings. Camp hosts are friendly, and there's ample wildlife and river access for recreation. However, some sites lack shade and may not be suitable for tents, and the campground's layout can lead to separation among groups.

Stayed in the beginning of July, and it was hot, as to be expected. But it was nice to be able to dip our toes in the river and find some secluded areas to take a dip. Our site next to the river lacked shade. Bathroom was kinda gross.

When we arrived at the group campsite, we discovered that the restroom near the campsite was closed, and the water was turned off. the nearest restroom was nearly 1/2 mile away, at the far end of the campground. we have a tent trailer with a 30 gallon water tank, but cannot fill it until we are set up.
that involves transporting the water in a 5 gallon container ( weight is between 45 and 50 lbs) I am nearly 71 years old, and carrying even 10 gallons of water is a strain, I need a minimum of 10 gallons of water in the tank for the system to work right.
I explained this to the campground host, but she said she was off duty and that I should pull my trailer 10 miles out to the main highway to an RV park where they would fill my tank for only $10.00.
We declined,.
We then checked with the Green river campground, which was about 2 miles down the road. We found two sites we could get for the 4 days we needed. We paid for those sites ( 4 days for 2 sites @18.00 per night per site. ) for a total of $108.
We appreciated the campground host at the Green river campground. He was a great host.
