Great access to day hike (Wind Cave Trail). Access to nice trail for the evening (Riverside Nature Trail). My campsite and Riverside Nature Trail both provided convenient river access for fly fishing. Campground was quiet and had many favorable locations for getting drinking water. Beautiful scenery every direction I looked.

Water was cool and clean, the restrooms well-kept. The tables could use a lick of paint and one of them had a weird hole in it that looked like somebody tried to fill with plaster, but it was falling apart. Still usable, however! We were in Group Site A and it has a wonderful open field to play in and plenty of room for tents. There's a little stream to the side that kids can splash around in if they want.

It's not fair to rate this campground poorly. We booked a few weeks before our trip, and in light of Covid-19 and the weekend before school started back, our luck had it that we were stuck with a site right up against hwy 89. It calmed down at night, but during the day it was quite noisy, which made it difficult to talk to our companions.
The camp hosts, Bob & Raylene were AWESOME. They were super helpful and available! We really enjoyed getting to know them a bit!
Some of the campsites are not labeled correctly on the website- i.e. it says it's an rv site and you arrive and it's very much a tiny rv site or tent only site. This makes it difficult for those that were planning on parking a rig there. So pay careful attention the lengths when reserving your site.
The park itself is beautiful. We spent quite a bit of time at the river in the Malibu side of the campground, even though the water was ICE COLD.
I would visit this park again, as long as I am as far away from 89 as possible. :)

The map was not accurate where our camp spot was and the spaces were tiny for campers. The camp spots were clean and so were the bathrooms.

I’m glad I only stayed one night. The campground was right on the main highway with a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. No bear boxes available. I stayed in site 12 which would be great for a tent but I had a tent trailer. No Verizon cell service which isn’t a big deal but something to keep in mind. Bathrooms were clean which was a plus.
