Great campground. Nice shade. Good facilities. Sometimes it can be difficult to maneuver a larger RV. We make sure we drop the towed vehicle before we enter the campground. The water system was not working yet. Not sure what the problem was. It’s the first time we’ve been here and it wasn’t working. Fortunately we had plenty of water in our holding tank. The camp host was friendly and helpful.

Always a good place for our first trip of the summer. Close to town in case anything is needed. Lovely campground.

There was no potable water anywhere in the entire campground. We had to go back in to town to get water.

Whiting is a beautiful shady campground. Because of a recent pipe main repair the water had not yet been tested for safety, so we brought in our own water. The camp spaces are really nice. The vault toilets well-maintained. No complaints. Thank you for some fun camping and hiking!!

To not have water available pretty much kills the camping experience. It seemed like the forest service people were just too lazy to turn it on.

Beware of constant host driving by checking the authenticationof your reservation.....and skunks...cute....but skunks. Lol

Double campsite #11. Very shady and lots of room. Space for 4 cars but we had 3. Two large picnic tables! The worst part was a family reunion in the site next to us. They had other sites reserved but everyone gathered at that one site. We had to tell the children not to shout to each other in the morning and evening. It was unfortunate but nothing that we could do to prevent that large gathering.

Camp sites were very dusty, I get it due to the hot summer, but made it difficult to enjoy the camp site.

From I-15, take Springville exit 260. Head east 2 miles to the intersection of Main Street and 400 South. Turn right on Main Street, staying in the right lane toward Highway 89/Price. Continue 2.3 miles to Maple Street. Turn left on Maple Street/State Highway 147 for .9 miles to Main Street in Mapleton. Turn left on Main Street, then right on 400 North. Drive east on 400 North for 2.7 miles to the campground.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Gates open at 7am and close at 10pm; camping only allowed in designated areas; max occupancy is 8 people per site; no generators after 10pm; and various other restrictions apply.
- FF sites are first-come, first-served; reservations for other sites must be made at least 5 days in advance; arrive in person to claim FF sites.
- Visit wildlife.utah.gov for Bear Country info and gocamputah.com/rules for campground rules.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Wildlife & food storage
- Store food and trash securely to avoid attracting wildlife; noncompliance may lead to fines or removal from the site.
Utilities
- Bring all necessary water for your stay, as no water is available on-site; trash must be packed out.
- Trailers, campers, and RVs must arrive with full water tanks; no hookups to spigots or restroom power allowed.
Pets
- Dogs must be leashed (max 6 feet) and cleaned up after; limit two dogs per site, and they must not threaten or damage property.
Safety & rules
- Minimum stay requirements: 2 nights on weekends, 3 nights on holiday weekends.
- Users assume full responsibility for their conduct and any accidents or injuries; Utah Recreation is not liable.
Fees & deposits
- Extra vehicles incur a fee of $10 per day; firewood costs $9.
- Discounted bookings without a Senior or Access pass require payment of the difference upon arrival; proof of eligibility is needed.
Fires & fuel
- Obtain firewood within 10 miles of your destination and burn it on-site to prevent pest spread.
