What Guests Are Saying
Ken's Lake Campground offers a beautiful setting with scenic views, spacious sites, and proximity to hiking trails and a nearby waterfall, making it a great spot for outdoor activities. While some campers noted issues with shade and cleanliness in the bathrooms, many appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and enjoyed their stay overall. Nice peaceful and inexpensive. Quiet out of the Moab traffic.

Others have said the campground is in a good location, but I felt like it was way too far from all of the mountain biking trails. Other than that, it's nice enough, just not my favorite place to camp in Moab.

This campground tends to be very windy and dusty. I would only recommend the campsites to the north by the creek, or first come first served. It's also a bit noisy from side by side and jeep traffic on the adjacent roads (adding to the dust issue). The first night of our most recent visit there was a very large party of kids - which was very noisy. Why no camp host?

Nice site, level with a tiny bit of shade. Convenient proximity to the lake and parks. Was in a Popup, being so exposed made for hot afternoons.

We all agreed this campground was more beautiful than we expected! The view is interesting and varied. And while only a third full, the lake was still accessible for paddleboards etc and wasn't gross like we expected. There is a private "beach" up further next to the creek with a little bushwacking that was wonderful and the kids played in for hours.
It was a little different than other rec.gov campsites I've been to in that there isn't a camp host during the busy season. This wasn't an issue during the week. The weekend was a different story. There were people setting up in wrong campsites and cars coming through all night looking for spots. The busier bathrooms were pretty bad, but a side one was much better. The sites along the creek have more privacy and trees and less exposure, but there is 1 site right on top of a bathroom.

Third year in a row staying at this site.
Lots of trash with a dead tree that was cut down haphazardly that fell on a healthy looking pinion tree on the edge of camp
No camp host anymore

I like camp ground just coz it’s quiet and away from highway. FYI: But campground doesn’t have flash toilets or drinking water, so you’ve prepared for that.. love the location.

Hike To The Waterfall!! This was my second time staying here and I didn't realize there was quite an easy hike to the waterfall in the area. Its dirt, slightly hilly, and has a lot of cactus close to the trail, but it is Definitely worth it! I've stayed in the first-come-first-served both visits and they're very nice. This time we stayed in mid April and got the last open site that was right beside the entrance to the loop, so there was quite a bit of noisy UTV/dirt bike traffic during the day. But at night when everything quieted down, you could here the rushing stream all night and a perfect night sky view.

Our site #5 said it was for 35ft RV.... But was not. It appears they changed the layout of the site and it is now set up for RV's about 20ft. BUT... we moved some boulders and used it the way it used to be and managed our 35ft RV in the space using some blocks to get it level. Campground was FULL and had no host. Most sites looked fairly level. We leave our RV here in Spanish Valley and drive into Moab with our Jeep. There is not much parking downtown for RVs. The site itself is beautiful with all the Red Rocks... especially at sunset.
