Definitely busy but easy place to hide from all the motors and mayhem.

Convenient to trails and town. Noisy during the day with many off-road vehicles and motorcycles.

When we arrived, our site was occupied. The person in charge allowed the people to stay at first and eventually retracted. We lost eight hours of our day waiting around to get our camper in and set up, essentially a whole day of our trip. We were reimbursed for one night, but it would have been nice to have had the day instead.

Things were great for the first few days. Then, a "beers and bikes" tour took over the campground with a large group of children running around with battery-operated Nurf machine guns on the rocks above our campsite into the late hours of the night, and the bathroom became so stinky that it made it difficult to stay at our site for any length of time.

Beautiful place.

Loved both campsites we used Datura 1 and Datura 2. #2 was further from bathrooms which only mattered because we had unusually cold weather while we camped here. Reasonably flat ground to park on at these group sites, flat tent space was a little harder to come by so we raked a bit. Close to the main road atvs use but not too too loud, also great separation from other campsites. Peaceful, serene, vast landscape views.

I rolled in after dark and just camped overnight. Easy entry and exit. Campsite was as described. The surroundings offered beautiful scenery at sunrise. The restroom is simple but adequate and very clean.

Our group site at Sand Flats loop D was just right with a shelter, two picnic tables, plenty of room for tents, and fantastic views of the La Sal mountains. Pit toilet bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've ever seen!

Got to my site and it was taken but no humans were there. They had posted the slip showing they had the same spot given to me. It was nearing dark and I could not wait to set up camp in the dark and cold. I had to leave and get a hotel room.

Paid for a reserved group site to fit 11 people. Was given a very small camp site that was not labelled "group" and did not fit everyone and our vehicles. In addition to paying for the site that did not need to be reserved in the first place (is in the first-come-first-serve section of the camp grounds), we also paid for for parking permits. Overall, reservations, directions, permits were not user friendly. Very confusing and led to multiple confrontations.

One of the best campsites I have ever stayed in! Clean & well stocked bathrooms & beautiful views! Lots of bats flying at night which helped keep bugs to a minimum. Campsite is within a 10-15 minute drive to Moab, which has everything you need from the city market to outdoorsy equipment at gear heads! Gear heads also has a free potable water station outside which is the perfect place to refill gallon jugs since the campsite doesn’t have running water. Sand flats recreation area has an abundance of UTV & Biking trails which you can access from the campsite. The campground is also 15 minutes away from Mill Creek, a great spot to hike through the water and cool off on a hot day. Next time we are in Moab we will definitely be staying here again.
