What Guests Are Saying

Lodgepole at Heber is praised for its beautiful scenery, spacious campsites, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite among many families. However, issues such as persistent road noise from Highway 40, lack of water, and maintenance concerns with restrooms and facilities have been recurring frustrations for campers. Despite these drawbacks, many reviewers express a strong desire to return, hoping for improvements in management and amenities.

Lodgepole has always been our go to place. My father in law was a camp host for many years! so it holds a great memory for our family.
But this was the first time that we have been up there that no camp host stopped and checked in with us. There was someone driving around in a golf cart, but never stopped. The fire pit has been damaged for a couple of years. Cement needs to be repaired.
Getting a reservation has to be done way in advance. To use the dump station we had to ask for the coin to dump it there.
Very sad that this camp site is going down hill. And no water, no bath rooms. Pretty sad!

Porta Patty's were full and gross. We are very saddened by the way the campground looks. Whoever burned the pile of trees everywhere did a horrible job. They not only have left remnants of burnt logs and branches, but they've also destroyed hundreds of nice looking conifer trees. Very disgusted. What kind of forest management is that. Plus, they've cut down hundreds of young trees and samplings. We may never return. We are so sad

Very pleasant campground and nice facilities. The water was off while we were there, but we appreciated the email reminder in advance so we could be prepared.

We reserved 2 double campsites starting on the 3rd of June. We had 20+ people coming. It was most of our whole family. We got there and there was no water no flush toilets only porta potties. I asked the host why there wasn’t any advance notice on the website that there was no water. She told me she didn’t know, but she was told that when the owners turned on the water the 10th May, they found a hole in the water tank . This was extremely frustrating and disappointing again to have no water! This was not our first time since Lodgepole was bought out by different owners that the website has said there was water and there wasn’t. But we were hoping this time for an honest website but again we were wrong.
While camping there on June 5, an alert was posted on the website, it said there was no water at Lodgepole. I thought to myself thanks for the advance notice.!!!!!
From 10 May, when the water was turned on to 5 June, that’s quite a few days and a notice could have been put on the website. There’s no excuse for that!!!
Poor management!!!
One of our favorite places to go and always has been , we will not be planning on coming here again to be disappointed!!

Lodgepole has always been our most favorite spot to go except for the last five or so years when it was bought out by a different company. They have not had any water and they advertise that there’s water. When we got there this time expecting to have Water like the website said , very excited, but when we got there, there wasn’t any water ! We were camping for two days this time when an alert finally came through on the website that there wasn’t any Water. They had porta potties instead of flush toilets like advertised. The Porta potties were so full of poo and paper that it was almost touching you when you sat on the toilet. The least they could do is clean the Porta potties more regularly. It doesn’t look like they are in a hurry to fix the water situation at all!
We stayed in campsite number eight and the fire pit is horrible. It’s falling apart. There’s wire sticking out. The metal rim is sticking out very dangerous. We rented two double sites number eight and six we had to pay full price for them. I think that’s absurd. They should lower the price if they do not have water as advertised or flush toilets at advertised or a dump station as advertised.
This is the frustrating part about staying in the place that we absolutely love is we have mentioned all these things many times in a review and nothing‘s done this company doesn’t care!
You ask why we still come, well it’s because they advertise their water and when we get there there isn’t! We keep hoping that the information on the website is correct but it wasn’t again!
One great part of Lodgepole experience was our Camp host she was absolutely fantastic!!!
Why can’t you fix your water and be honest with your advertisement!!!!!!!!!!!

Very beautiful and nice campground. The restrooms were out of order, so there were portables instead. Overall a great spot.
