We reserved site 18 online.
Upon arrival, attendant asked spontaneously asked us if we would take site 11.
I replied okay, and said that it is hard to evaluate sites.
Site 11 was in full sunlight and not acceptable, so I called the office and said we would take site 18 after all.
Attendant’s wife said okay.
Site 18 was occupied by another camper who then had to move due to the attendant’s misrepresentation.
Turns out the attendant gave away our site and didn’t want to make the other camper move and couldn’t override the online reservation system (thankfully).
Too bad the attendant wasn’t honest to begin with.

Our family has been camping here for 15+ years. Great spot for kids of all ages, biking, swimming & ball games. The spotty cell service adds to the family bonding experience. We all look forward to it every year

A group of us had sites S70 through S75 the weekend of Fri Jun 17-Mon Jun 20. Two of us had ridden through the campground along the West River on numerous occasions, so we had a positive visual of what the area was like in advance. Well, the actual camping experience exceeded expectations. The overall setting, large, beautiful sites, and clean restrooms were fantastic. (Additional showers wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.)

We love Winhall Brook Campground and have been going there for about 20 years.
They have maintained there cleanliness and landscaped appearance of the campground throughout the years. A Diamond in the rough.

Tree branches could be trimmed back better, had a few times we had them scraping the sides and top. Staff was nice.

From Brattleboro, Vermont, travel north on Vermont Route 30 for 30 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn right onto Vermont Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.
From Manchester, Vermont, travel east on Vermont Route 11 for 5 miles. Turn right onto Vermont Route 30 continue for 9 miles towards Rawsonville. Turn left onto Route 100 and continue for an additional 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Winhall Station Road and follow for 1 mile to the campground entrance station.

Ball Mountain Lake is a flood control project. Occasional retention of floodwaters may inundate portions of Winhall Brook Camping Area. Any cancellations due to flood-related closures will be fully refunded. |

Any special event, gathering, or activity that may affect the atmosphere of the park must receive prior approval from park staff. |

A narrow, one-lane bridge must be crossed to access the south side of the camping area; vehicles must be 42 feet in length or less to cross (see pictures in gallery. The bridge weight limit is 16 tons. |

Firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. |
