Very clean. Large spaces with grass for camper. Mostly campers with bathroom so restrooms much quieter and empty. And clean. The creek is perfect to wander or play. Seemed great option for group campers to camp together-like a block party.

Memorial Park about a mile away is a great place for little ones. We like staying right in the campground and hike the trails and sit by the river.

The restrooms and showers were very clean. This is a good campground for groups. Many sites do not have a specific place within the site that you need to park in. You just park and make it work for your equipment. However, we were in N11, which only really had one way to park our 5th wheel. The size of the sites also vary. Some are more spacious and useable than others. Our site did not have water or electric, but some on the south side of the campground did. They are a couple of good hiking trails that leave right from the campground.

One of my favorite campgrounds. Very clean and well kept. The rangers and other staff are kind. Must visit!

Completely wonderful; like camping used to be. No blaring radios/devices, kids playing together, everyone respectful of quiet time, beautiful rocky brook. No fireworks! And the staff friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Wow, restored my faith.

We had a 45’ Rv and had to stay in the north side of the campground. The bathroom and shower facilities were nice and clean and our kids loved the playground and the river. Plenty of space in our site, but had to finagle a turn to face the exit due to no turn availability in the campground because of low branches and very busy to use other sites. Lots of families here so you have to be extra cautious. It rained two days here and the ground held up for the most part on our very heavy RV. Very quiet and would absolutely recommend. Only downside is the dump site, the way it was designed allows backflow and we all know how bad that is. Electricity was not available in our site N4 but a ranger came by and told us they are planning on adding 50 amps to all sites. (“Reason to return!) the area is beautiful and lush green, lots of deer, frogs, great for birding, fireflies, squirrels and small fish in the lake. Perfect place to relax, reflect and enjoy!

Enjoyable campground. Clean restrooms. Electric sites were mostly open with partial shade by nearby trees.

Winhall Brook is our go-to campground. The Welcome Hosts are excellent, the facilities and grounds are kept beautifully by the hired staff. Our only complaints are as follows:
1) We have been told in the past couple of years that some of the dangerous Pine trees were going to be removed or trimmed back so that they would not be a danger to campers and their equipment. This has never been done.
2) We were also told by the Rangers that the narrow embankment would be dug back to accommodate the turn onto the narrow bridge crossing to the South side of the campground. Again, this was never done.
3) This is more of a wishful thing … it would be nice if they could extend the WiFi access to throughout the campground. At the very least, it could ride on the electrical on the South side of the campground.

Wonderful campground. The Corps of Engineers does a great job in designing and operating this campground. We find it stands head and shoulders above most other states' campgrounds. The facilities are always clean and well maintained despite being a bit dated. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Location and campground choices provide a wide range of sunny and shady spots. Finally, our experience is that the folks that frequent the sites are family oriented and not the party crowd that you often see in adjoining state campgrounds.
