The campgrounds were very well kept and the sites were very large and comfortable. But The hiking paths were so beautiful. With the river running thru the park made this experience even more pleasurable.

This is a beautiful, very well maintained campground. The sites are spacious and grassy. Plenty of hiking trails that are also great biking trails. It's definitely top of our list of destinations, now.

Winhall is beautiful, and about 20 minutes drive from Stratton Mountain (going to the fire tower via the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail is a great day hike) and less than that from Hamilton Falls and Ball Mountain Dam (the two connect by a wonderful shorter hike). We’re not the touristy sort, but shopping in Brattleboro and the Vermont Country Store in Weston are both fun, interesting rainy-weather plans. There’s so much history, and tons of things to do in this area. The campground itself is quaint, clean, and beautiful. It even has some walking trails of its own. I’d gladly visit there again, and suggest it to anyone looking for a gorgeous place to stay in southern VT.

Go to Army COE campgrounds whenever possible. This one was just overnight spot. Very well maintained camp ground next to a large creek. Large sites. Easy check in process. Large Diesel Pusher RVs and 5th Wheels may have issue making a turn on the bridge into the South Loop. Limited cell service on Verizon. Bath and Toilet facilities are aged but well maintained.

What a joy to be here!! Such a beautiful campground. Serene and quiet is an understatement. We stayed at the south Campground and had to cross the tiny bridge in a 37 foot fifth wheel. It takes care, but, it can be fine if your careful. I put up a video on our YouTube channel that gives detail. Going Rogue is the name of our channel. Tony was a great help. He took me down to the bridge and showed me what needed to be done to get across.
There are lots of fantastic walks to be had and the night time sky’s are phenomenal.
Winhall Brook is an absolute jewel!!
