I'VE BEEN GOING TO WINHALL BROOK FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS. LOVE THE AREA. NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT, BUT THE FACILITY HAS GOTTEN BETTER OVER TIME. GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE FAMILY OR HAVE A GET TOGETHER WITH BUDDIES

I was only passing through on an epic roadtrip, but this sticks out as one of my favorite campsites! It was absolutely beautiful. It's located in a valley and the campsites sit right up against a creek. The man at the gate was very friendly and helpful. I am a female and I was traveling solo, so feeling safe was high priority. The campsites were close enough that I could see other people, but pushed far enough back to give me privacy. It was exactly what I was looking for. There is cell service, but only at the entrance. Overall, I was kind of bummed that I had to leave so soon. Highly recommend for all kinds of travelers!

This is great place to get away from it all and relax. The campground is fairly flat with paved roads so bring the bikes for the kids. They can ride to the playgrounds, which abound, or just explore on the nature trail. Some Saturday nights they can even go see a movie at the pavilion. The rail trails are great walks for everyone but if you want to go all the way, plan on several hours.
Showers are hot and facilities are kept clean. Bath houses also have an exterior dish washing station which is a great boon. Dump station exist on both side as you exit and one area has full sites with power & water. Small swim holes abound in the two brooks that the camp encompasses for those who want to cool off.
Fire rings at the sites are hit or miss. Many have missing grates so if you rely on fire cooking, plan accordingly with extra gear.

We weren't able to check in at all there was nobody working the desk but the grounds and the bathrooms were lovely and that's a huge plus for us camping. I wish there was better organization and someone available at the check in area at all times but it was end of season so it was understandable. Definitely will be back for Columbus day weekend this fall
