Fort Hunt Picnic Areas

The location is fantastic and my guest had a wonderful time. My only disappointment was during the pandemic there were changes made to food service in the park, not being allowed to have an ice cream truck was very disappointing for my guest, as we had one in 2019 & before but things changed and no one can say why. The children really enjoyed this visit for about an hour and having to eliminate it was a huge disappointment.
Park personnel were very helpful and polite, appreciate that too.

We wanted an outdoor venue for our company event at the beginning of September and decided to reserve Pavilion C2. It was perfect for our 30-person gathering. We were able to decorate the pavilion, bring in our own food and beverage, and the unloading zone was very handy during set-up and clean-up. We had plenty of trash and recycling receptacles at the pavilion, so there was no need to worry about hauling trash away. There were bathrooms just across the road, not terribly far. A park ranger checked in on us to be sure we had everything we needed. In all, it was a convenient, inexpensive way to gather outdoors with a roof over our heads, and fun was had by all!

Wonderful park and a great experience overall. The staff was very helpful.

C002 provided an excellent venue for a gathering of about 25 people during COVID19 to comfortably be able to distance but still enjoy a party! There were plenty of trash and recycling receptacles and the park service had cleaned out all the trash prior to the reservation start time. Overall, wonderful location!

We had a wonderful picnic at Fort Hunt in one of the pavilions! The space was great and the rangers were very helpful leading up to our reservation. It is beautiful spot!

We held a fifth birthday party for my son at one of the covered picnic areas. The kids had a ton of space to run and play around the picnic area. Everything was right there and easy - picnic tables, trash, recycling, bathrooms, parking. Friendly rangers visited at the beginning and the end. It was a very good experience!

Pleasant area.

This was a great spot for our family reunion picnic. The pavilion is quite big and provided the shade we needed and ee used the field for games. We knew that there is no electrical outlet - so we had our speaker charged in advance. No bathrooms on our exact spot, but not too far away. I appreciated the phone call I got from the park ranger a week or so before to discuss decorating rules. And the rangers did check in on us at the beginning of our event which was thoughtful. It's a beautiful spot - we enjoyed using it.

The park crew was very helpful and friendly. The cite A was clean and operational (water, electricity, garbage containers, etc.). Mr. Robinson was very helpful and accommodating, a very good person to work with.

Thanks so much for make everyone's experience great, the group prefer this park site over others in the area partly because of the people we have worked with.
