About Longwood Park

Longwood Park is located on John H. Kerr Reservoir, a 50,000-acre lake that extends 39 miles up the wooded, cove-studded shoreline of the Roanoke River in Virginia and North Carolina. Kerr Reservoir, also known as Buggs Island Lake, was created with the construction of the John H. Kerr Dam in 1952. Its 800 miles of wooded shoreline stretch across six counties and two states and offer countless recreation opportunities for visitors.

Most sites are nice and wide. The lake sites unfortunately have no power or water. It was quiet and pretty.

It is one of the cleanest and best maintained parks we have gone to. The Hosts are always cheerful and helpful. It is on Kerr Reservoir and the fishing was great.

The camp ground is very clean and the sites are very nice. Loved the room on the camp sites. the only thing i didn't like about the campground is the rudeness of one of the ladies at the entrance.

As a Disabled Army Veteran, hard to impress me; but I was very impressed with the friendly and respectful staff. They all were very helpful and informative. The camp grounds were beautiful and clean. We enjoyed this camp ground. Will be definitely coming back to camp here. VA out beats NC any day. A+😁
