What Guests Are Saying
Beartree offers a pleasant camping experience with good privacy and a clean bathhouse, complemented by warm showers and a friendly camp host. Although there is only one shower per gender, the campground's low occupancy made it manageable. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities include a pit toilet.

A beautiful campsite right next to a creek. The kids loved playing in the creek.

Love site 38, easy to back into and secluded from most of the other sites.

Love this Campground, great place to dry camp/boondock. Lots of tree cover, so not good for solar, but is very cozy. Love the privacy that the rhododendron provide between campsites. Is close to Mt Rogers & the Creeper trail. Damascus is near by and has essentials if you run out/forget them.

It was our 3rd time camping at Beartree. Perfect location away from it all! Very convenient to the Creeper Trail. No cell service in the area.

Very nice & spacious campground with great hiking nearby. Bathrooms were clean, but have to be a vertically challenged to get under the shower head right next to the wall. The dumpster was overflowing all 5 days we were there & was not bear-proof.
Close to Mount Rogers, Grayson Highlands & Appalachian Trail.

This was our second visit to Beartree. This second visit was much more pleasant. There were quite a few RV's there on our first trip whose owners did not follow the generator guidelines. It is a great place.

Nice campground. Quiet. Close to Virginia Creeper Trail, A.T., and many other hiking trails.

Beautiful place. Camp hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Love it. The only thing that it needs is water & electricity.
