Our FAVORITE campground! We had the most wonderful time here. The camp sites are huge compared to commercial or State Park campgrounds. We loved the old forest feel with ferns, moss and boulders dotting the forest floor. The restrooms were convenient, clean and had great showers. We loved walking the dogs around the great roads. Because the sites are large, the dogs at other sites were nicely away from the road so the temptation to meet much less. We loved how easy it was the hike from the campground or go down the road for other hiking. It was also nice to see some of the Appalachian Trail hikers coming in and out of the area. We met a few of the staff who were friendly and busy making the visit pleasant. Loved it!! Just bummed that it is closed for maintenance in 2021. :-( But we look forward to 2022!! :-)

Beautiful, spacious campground. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our campsite loop hosts, Brian and Anne, were very attentive to the various needs of our group and those around us. 30 minutes prior to our final leaving, one member of our group locked her keys in her vehicle. We didn't know what to do. Brian went with her to call the Sheriff, who sent a state trooper, who then called a locksmith. While we waited, Anne & Brian invited us into their site where they settled our kids in front of a warm fire and served us cookies, cocoa and wonderful hospitality! I'm so thankful for them. They gave us great tips throughout our stay on how to get to different attractions in the area.

The campground hosts were wonderful. They were extremely helpful with anything we needed. We had a camper that broke her leg on a hike and the hosts were so considerate. We will go back when we are in the area!!
