We have always loved Grindstone. However, it seems so "overgrown" like no one is mowing which makes it look ragged. Always looked so nice before. At least bathrooms were cleaned daily.

I tried canceling my reservation several times and couldn't. I wound up staying at Hurricane campground in Virginia. No cell phone reception. I got wifi and tried to cancel with your website. It did not have the option to cancel. Why? I then used my son's phone that had the AP. I tried canceling using that. I hit cancel and It gave me an error. Why?

It was really pretty there with tall trees to give us lots of shade.

One of the most beautiful areas of Virginia. This campground is near Mt Rogers and Grayson Highlands.

I liked how well the hosts kept the bathrooms fancy.

We camped in an Airstream in the Cottontail section with electric and water. It was outstanding and it met all our expectations for getting away during the Covid-19 pandemic. We used the showers, and they were kept pretty clean and lightly used. Camp sites were large and had good privacy. Many things to do in the area: we hiked to the summit of Mt. Rogers, hiked to the Comers Creek Falls, and biked on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Also did some gravel bike riding right from the campground (828 - 84 - 650 - 16 - 741 - 603). Weather was generally awesome with temps in low 70s, which was great given that other parts of Virginia was seeing temps in the 90s with heat indices over 100. We did buy firewood and ice from the store in Konnarock. Will definitely be back to Grindstone in the future!

Have camped several years at Grindstone & always enjoyed. Campground was clean as well as bath rooms considering 1 -2 hosts. Very concerned about no phone available in case there was a personal emergency either there at the campground or a family emergency at home. Was told there is a phone, but they don't answer or check voice mail. Also was told there was cp service 5 minutes down the road.

Our favorite campground. Loved the scenery, quietness and shady sites.
Recommend: The concrete border around the dump station makes it difficult to use a portable pull behind tank. The lip is about 4 “ high. You have to lift the 25 gallon tank up onto the border to dump. It would be nice if the edge was at road level.
