The site was in good condition although the ground was uneven. We went as part of a backpacking trek which I wouldn't do again for this particular campsite. I would do this site again for car camping if I had an air mattress instead of a sleeping pad and I wouldn't do it again on a holiday weekend as it got noisy during Labor Day weekend.

Such a great campground! Our little damp site was around others but still felt secluded which was nice. Super easy walks around the whole campsite, but also could drive to the hikes you wanted to do. We stayed at F175 which was close to the bathrooms (but not too close) and we didn’t have a bear box like all the other sites around us, but we just kept food in our cars. F175 is also a bit rocky on the ground so bring sleeping pads for extra comfort.

Last August, I visited Loft Mountain Campground for the first time. The staff were very friendly. The restrooms were plentiful and well-maintained, which was nice.
The tables on the site were made of metal, not wood, which made them very clean and comfortable to use.
The trash receptacles and trash dumpsters were conveniently located throughout the campground, and they were also well-maintained and clean.
The only inconvenience was that the utility sink area was a bit cramped.
The natural scenery was, without a doubt, breathtaking. I would definitely visit again.

All campgrounds in SNP are relatively compressed (cramped) but for me Loft is the best. Group space 1 is divided into two spaces - one VERY angled spot for a trailer and a flat, open space next to other group sites. Our 24’ trailer had its nose on the ground to level it. The best sites are on the interior loops. Sites are VERY close to the bathrooms so I would avoid those. The rangers and hosts were great, the nature was incredible, the views all you could want. Just go in expecting close quarters!

We had a fantastic time on Loft Mountain. Ranger Rachel was a huge help in figuring out first come first served spots and the store was an incredible amenity!

This is a nice, well-maintained campground. It was full the weekend we stayed, but we didn't feel like we were on top of other campsites. We very much enjoyed the evening program lead by one of the rangers about the history of the park.

Nice campground, is slightly more rustic than big meadow. Zero cell service (tmobile) at site, decent service 50 feet away. Bathroom clean. No shower in bathroom, did have pay showers at camp store.

This was my first trip to Loft Mountain. I was interested in how it compared to Big Meadows. Big Meadows campground is open with big trees, here you are in a thicker forest setting with more privacy. They have the same amenities here as Big Meadows, but they are a little further away. Fewer showers and clothes washers. The camp store here has food so you do not have to go to the wayside unless you want the restaurant. No bugs or insects during my visit.

The campground was clean and well ran. However our group felt the showers were quite expensive ($5/10mins) for a mediocre experience. Otherwise well mapped and easy to navigate. Will likely return!
