The campground is crowded and has close campsites. Noise from campers past 10pm is not addressed. We had campers next to us that partied loudly the first night until 1 am. Example of this is that you could hear their conversation in our tent and could tell that they were playing 20 questions. The second night they were slightly quieter but still talked into the wee morning hours. So much for a 10pm quite time.
Also, there is a lack of bathroom facilities for the number of campers. The facilities lack places to hang clothing items and a place to put your bag of toiletries while using the sink.
The hiking trails are awesome!

Bear boxes on most sites. New picnic tables. Site pictures outdated

Very clean campsite, a lot of animals. Very dog friendly, and highly recommend having a footprint for your tent.

Loft Mountain is excellent. I’ve stayed here many times. Easily accessible, clean, quiet, and great views from the Amphitheater especially during sunset

We stayed at Loft Mountain this past fall and it was one of our best camping trips this year. The fall foliage, cooler weather and spectacular views made the trip that much better. Most sites look to be on grass, so there isn't a gravel pad to "limt" where you can setup you tent. The only downside was if there was rain in the forecast, it did make for a slightly muddy site.
We would highly recommend any of the hikes in the area, however if you have younger children then the best experience we found was the Young Naturalist program at Big Meadows. It is a bit of a drive, since you have to drive down to Big Meadows, but the experience and fun is definitely worth it. You can also look to pick up a booklet for the Junior Ranger program, which you can work on some of the activities in the book and your kids can be sworn in as Junior Rangers.
We would highly recommend Loft Mountain as a great place to stay and experience for your next camping trip!

Nice campground. Friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms were clean and open 24/7. Showers close early so had to go to Big Meadows one time instead. Keep in mind site 12 and the ones next to it have a steep and kinda slippery path to walk down. Would stay again but probably at a different spot.

We have camped at Loft Mountain for several years. This was the first time we had to make reservations and the process was not user friendly. We left early because of the rain. Several sites were flooded and there was no electricity at the check in or the camp store the entire time we were there. We tried to get a one night’s refund, but recreacrion.gov said we did’t have any reservations on file. But, obviously, we did since you sent this survey for our opinion of our stay at Loft Moj tain and thanking me for reserving through your site.

Enjoyed my time there and rangers were welcoming. Restrooms need a little love. Lots of tent campers during storm. Was surprised no one came around to check on us. But it was an unusual situation.

No issues with site or check-in. We came looking forward to having access to a shower but refused to pay $5 for 10 minutes in a dirty shower. And you have to pay in quarters with a non-working change machine.
