Evidently you don't actually need a reservation at this campground. I made a reservation months in advance for a spot specific for my physical and mental needs. When I arrived, I was informed that "a guy" was "squatting" in my reserved spot. He was "pretty dug in" so the ranger "had saved a spot" for me across the way. A terrible spot in between the bathroom and a group of screaming teenagers who stayed up all night yelling. It was really hard to hike back to my car after getting two hours of sleep.

The campground is beautiful, lots of trees and more songbirds than I have ever heard at once as we woke up in the morning. Amazing! The bear box was plenty big for all our food/toiletry items and a nice picnic table. This particular campsite was not very private. It shares space with the site beside it, but that site was vacant while we were there so it wasn’t an issue - would be a good site for two groups wanting to camp beside one another. This is a highly trafficked area of the campground near the entrance of the campground so there were a lot of cars passing by. While very convenient near the bathroom and water, there was quite a bit of pedestrian traffic cutting through our site to get there. It was very loud all night and not at all restful. Quiet hours were not respected or enforced. Perhaps we just chose the wrong site, but not the quiet getaway we had hoped for. We will look to a different area of this campground next time we are in the area.

first of all, great customer service. This wonderful ranger lady officer informed me that my reserved campsite could potentially be small for my group and offered to change if I didn't like it. Turned out to be true, came back, changed my location, and VIOLA! very kind and supportive. Unfortunately, we had unruly neighbors that night and couldn't sleep but I wouldn't let this ruin my amazing overall experience.

Great spot for camping in the southern end of the park. We enjoyed the stay and the host were great. Wish we got a spot with more grass.

Loved the campsite. Was very windy on the ridge though so be prepared you may not be able to have a fire.

Great campsite. The AT winds around it. Lots of great hikes and bike rides on and around the Skyline Drive. Highly recommend it.

Stayed here with a 30 ft travel trailer. Water spigots throughout the F loop campground broken or no faucets for refilling any water containers. Black water rinse at dump station is old and pretty much useless. Big Meadows campground stay was much nicer.

We've come to this campground over the years and find it very peaceful, calm, quiet, and friendly. The bathrooms are always pretty clean, in good working order, and the hosts and workers are always cheerful and helpful. The Frazier discovery trail at the entrance to the campground is a difficult, yet invigorating hike to a 360 degree overlook atop the mountain. The amphitheater is a great place to go during the day for a picnic or to stargaze at night. Even strolling around the campground is nice because it's well shaded and breezy.
