To begin with the positives, the location is excellent, the number of sites outstanding and the price affordable (even attractive when the discounts are applied). Overall however, the park REALLY needs to be upgraded to reflect the differences in RVs from those used when the park was designed and laid out. We have a 28ft TT and it was very difficult to pull into and out of our spot; we are on the smaller side of those RVs that were in the park. The arced loops do NOT provide sufficient space to effectively park one's RV and avoid being on the grass. Either increase the width of the spots or remove those on the A loop and make them all back-ins reserved only for RVs. Secondly the generator use limits are not aligned to the increased electronics in play today and there needs to either be electricity brought in (preferred) or the hours expanded. Lastly the bath houses and rest rooms need to be refreshed and additional capacity added to both functions. When compared to the Virginia state parks, the parks in Shenandoah are far behind in function and value.

Beautiful setting and a well-maintained campground. Having stayed in National park campgrounds many times, I appreciated the level, paved campsites, the many pull-through sites available, the level, well-maintained pathways and the restrooms! Heat and hot water are a luxury in these campgrounds. The shower facilities at the camp store were a very nice amenity, too. Great staff, very helpful and friendly.

Great spot for camping. Bathrooms were clean and close by. The site was a little small but fortunately we only needed room for one tent. Checking in/ out was easy.

Really enjoyed hiking in the park. Beautiful waterfalls. Campsite was a very nice pull through site with a very nice large picnic area with firepit. Enjoyed our three night stay and will be back soon.

it was not too crowded on a weekday in October. The leaves were starting to be in their prime autumn glory. We stopped for the night and a cozy campfire on the way north to the end of our trip to Shenandoah NP. We have a 28 foot RV, and were able to level ourselves out in our site with no problem. The reservation web site was helpful to be sure our site was large enough and level enough for our needs.

Didn’t get eaten by a bear, was bullied off the trail by a young buck. The other graciously let us pass by.
