Nice campsite, decent privacy, unfortunate the tent site is at a slight angle but not horrible.

Site G202. Overall loved it. Could be a little flatter but drained well in the rain. Picnic table is a bit too close to thorn bushes for setting up rain shelter resulting in bloody cuts on my hands BUT the bushes provided a bit of a wind break for the 50 mph wind gusts we experienced. The bushes need to be trimmed back away from the table.
Light outside bathroom is unnecessarily bright and interferes with stargazing. In fact, the lights inside the bathroom are enough to locate the bathroom in the night. Since we all have flashlights and headlamps, the outside light is unnecessary.
Utility sink was so incredibly nice to have.
G loop is generator free. However, a short distance away on the main loop at the bottom of the G loop road are pull throughs for giant RVs. They made various motor and generator noises that I could have done without. Those RV pull throughs are also right next to the walk in sites for backpackers! Seems like an inappropriate location altogether.
Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Overall the campground was well maintained. Everyone that we interacted with both staff and campers alike were respectful, courteous, and helpful. Views are wonderful. The campground is about 45 minutes to an hour south of all of the most popular attractions in the park so that should be kept in mind.

While the weather didn't cooperate, the campground is as beautiful as ever. Disappointed that the picnic area was closed and the Wayside Restaurant was also closed.

Loft mountain campground is closed to the trails that I usually hike. The campsite is lovely.. the place is quiet and well maintained. Bathroom is very accessible and clean. Will definitely come back

Great family campground with excellent hiking and wildlife viewing. We were very pleased to see that the overlooks on Skyline Drive are being trimmed so we can once more see the epic views from the mountains! We were sad that the restaurant at the Loft Wayside is closed because they had the best homemade ice cream on our last visit. The ranger programs at the amphitheater are always outstanding! We'll be back in the spring!
