Our site was vey narrow and was designated as a handicap. It was the farthest site from rest rooms and trash. The only thing handicap was the blacktop and that was not wheelchair accessible. We will not be back wanted handicap for our issues and was very dissatisfied. The whole park needs work sites 46,47,48 could be handicap not site 33where we stayed

We stayed in site 001 and had a great view of the lake . Wasn’t crowded during the week so far and I understand that it’s more crowded on weekends. Hosts were very nice and helpful as were all of the employees that we saw while there . They kept everything very clean and nice .
A nice ride one day over to the park and overlook at the dam . Good trip and nice folks over at L&M conv. store only a few miles away .

This would be a good spot for those with young kids or people who like to camp in close spaces. It suited our needs for the week however we will not return. This is only due to us liking more space between campsites. We were on the upper lot which had less space between campsites and out in the open. We did like the fact that there were many places to explore on Philpott Lake by boat. We had a motorized canoe and were able to visit two of the waterfalls and the cliffs on two different trips. We loved the nearby Fairy Stone State Park which had many different trails to enjoy. Of note, If you are handicap and have tags or a placard (even if out of state) you can get in Fairy Stone State Park for free. Be sure to stop at the Fairy Stone Pit Stop prior to the park by the gas station. We found a very large fairy stone and spent an hour looking for some. Great spot for kids to go. The other must see is the overlook at Philpott Dam. The only complaint we had about Salt Branch is that the management did not make campers abide by the 10:00pm quiet hour. The kids were still screaming and playing at 11:00 at night as well as someone’s radio was still on outside. The ranger had left at 9:30 or 10:00 and the noise levels on Friday night were still very high at 11:00. We called the park and the manager or host who answered said they can’t do anything about the noise and the ranger had left early. We have never had to call before and normally just ignore it however this was beyond reasonable. So we did the next best thing and turned our A/C on high to drown out the noise LOL. At any rate, this place is good but it’s not what we are use to as far as roomy sites.

Very clean park. Enjoyed sitting near the lake and relaxing. Camp hosts very friendly and helpful. Small store next door that has essentials if you need something. Would definitely go back.
