Salthouse Branch review: i camped at site 33 twice now as a stopping point of my trip to Tennessee. My first stop I did a review noting that the campsite was not cleaned after the previous camper left. The camp host job is more than just checking campers in. We found trash in the fire ring and around the site and it’s no different this visit. Walking around the campground the grounds and other sites are the same. On a personal note why is the ADA site so far from the bathhouse. I have limited mobility and there’s no red parking near the bathhouse to provide easy access either.

The campground is dated and could use a little love. The previous camper for site 33 used the fire ring as a trash disposal of can’s cigarette butts and chicken bones. The ring also has a heavy layer of ashes. My wife and I removed the trash. The restrooms and showers were nice. The ADA site is pretty far from the restrooms.

We have been to this location a couple of times, and we like it. The sites are very close together, but everyone is always so nice.

RV sites 1-18 have little to no shade and are very close together. The dump station is at the top of the hill in the tent area by the bathhouse and hard to get back to the exit as you have to go down to the beach to make a U-turn. There are very steep grades in that area of the campground.
