What Guests Are Saying

Sunrise Cabin offers a cozy, secluded retreat ideal for families and friends, with a spacious layout and a picturesque location near Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. Many guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the affordability of the 4-bedroom, 2-bath setup. However, some maintenance issues, particularly in the bathrooms, and a few accessibility concerns were noted.

Great cabin for a getaway. Road the cabin is on is gravel/dirt and cabin property is all grass. But the ground is well traveled and makes for easy parking and a beautiful view. The sun rises and sets towards the sides of the cabin and the view from the front porch is a wonderful southern view of the valley below and mountains beyond. The property is a little over an hour drive from Grayson Highlands for a high point hike but the horse trail at the property goes there as well.

There are many more amenities than advertised such as a coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, fully stocked with pots and pans of many sizes, and full sets of dishes.

Great location if you want to bike or ride horses or kayak, but we found a dearth of hiking trails which was our only disappointment. Great private cabin.

Absolutely amazing cabin. Second year going with some friends. Keep an eye out for wasps, there are quite a few that hang around the cabin. They won't really bother you if you don't bother them. No need to bring salt and pepper, there is so much there. The trails next to the cabin are great, too! If you forget anything, there is a dollar general less than 10 minutes away, and a walmart 30 minutes away.

You need to take your trash with you. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR TRASH TO A LOCAL DUMP. GO PAST DOLLAR GENERAL (LEFT OFF CHA CHA ROAD) AND KEEP GOING UNTIL YOU CAN TURN RIGHT ONTO SLAB TOWN ROAD. THEN TURN RIGHT ONTO KINGS CHAPEL ROA . You'll find it there!

Just returned from a very nice week here. Beautiful, spacious cabin. There is a toaster oven, but I recommend you take a toaster. Having coffee on front porch early mornings was one of my faves about this place. Fridge is tricky- keeps things nice and cold and water in ice cube trays freezes very fast. But the plastic shelf holders in fridge are broken and kept falling off. And the bottom shelf is cracked and bowed. But for the price, this place is a great bargain.
