This is the third time I've stayed a couple of nights in Big Meadows. AOK each time. The campground was tidy, not over-crowded, not over-noisy. I slept well both nights. The comfort stations I visited were AOK each time, and well tended.

What a wonderful campground, mixing the raw beauty of nature with amenities if you want to make it a longer camping trip. The walkability of the campground is great and the views are amazing. Walking the big meadow at dusk is a must and learning about the history of the park at the visitor center is enlightening. We loved our stay and can't wait to visit again!

Tent area is not quite level and rocky but the site itself has nice views of the Appalachian trail and is relatively private, being at the edge of the campground.

We love staying at this campground due to its location near the visitor center. Most sites are level enough for our Sprinter van. Five dollars for a shower seems fair, but the water was tepid. Staff was friendly and helpful, but we were disappointed that the projector was broken, so no film at the visitors center. Big Meadows is an interesting place and we will continue camping there!
