Big Meadows rarely disappoints. I do wish that they would fix up the sites in the older section so that there were some level spots with less rocks to put up tents. The drives there could also use some fixing. The restroom Renovations were very nice.

We've been regulars at Big Meadows for more than 50 years and ALWAYS have a wonderful time. Yes, we've had rain, but always were prepared so that never dampened our interest/enjoyment. Perhaps current funding and staffing problems caused our first real problem - the toilet in men's restroom was closed for repairs during our stay and there was no indication when or if it would be repaired. Yes, there are alternates not too far away but our concern is that this may be the beginning. We have future reservations at the same site this year - and will enjoy our time there.

My camping trip was very nice. At check in you have to sign certain spots and write your vehicle down. I’m stubborn and don’t wear my glasses and admitted to the ranger. Who was glad to help show me where I needed to sign.
A few good things about this campground is IIF you’d like to park your car and leave it there are a few good hikes to walk to if that’s what you’d like to do.
Lewis Falls, the Appalachian trail, Dark Hollows falls, Big Meadows ( itself) and Rose River ( depending) are walkable hikes.
Dark Hollows you can’t have dogs on though.
It’s a beautiful area and sunrise depending on your campsite is so amazing.
Deer like to come by some sites and snack on things as they pass through the area..
I highly recommend this campground. You seriously can’t go wrong.
I will be back when I can make the time. Such a beautiful area and it feels like home to me.:)

We’ve been to a lot of national parks and this one stands out…beautiful, relaxing, great hiking.

We were in site A85. A loop in an RV. Sites in our area mixed tents, RVs, individuals sleeping in their vehicles arrangements. Not much vegetation separating the sites L, R and behind and fairly close together. Behind us was a LARGE 8 tent youth group in bright orange dome tents. Next time I’d pick a site father up in A loop or in B loop. Sites more spread out and private there with more trees in between. Otherwise it’s dry camping. Zero cell phone coverage with Verizon.

The campground is spacious with great tables and fire pits. Some sites look like they could have lovely views. We were very disappointed in the showers. The water was barely warmed, and for $5 per shower I expect a good hot shower!

Sites are small, not a lot of room for a tent.

Nice wide camping spaces, clean rest rooms. Great views and great location for many hikes. Only minus was the coin operated showers. But at least they had showers

It's a nice campground. The site had an amazing view of the sunrise in the morning which was awesome but the site itself was not the best, the ground was very gravely (not the best site for tents). Overall, a nice site but best for a small camper van or the like.
