It was a perfect place after Old Rag hike. You must visit Shenandoah National park and camp at Matthews Arm campsite.

The campground was clean, quiet and well maintained. The fire ring and bear boxes were great. The locations was convenient to trails and overlooks. I saw several deer throughout the campground, and I met some really nice people. I have no complaints, I will be back.

We had a great week. Weather was perfect, and the trail we picked, Overall Run, was challenging but rewarding. Our campsite sloped and was a little difficult to level our camper. Our site was B119. But overall a very nice campground.

First time there. Staff was professional and helpful. Campsites a little tight close together, but seemed nice. Hope to return.

Got to see plenty of deer up close. Sites were very conveniently located near the trash dumpster and restroom.

Wish there was more trees in site 64 for a hammock. Had to improvise.

Excellent experience! Just be warned, the closest shower is 29 mi and an hour drive away! Other than that, it was great!

Nice, quiet campground with nearby hiking trails and activities. Only issue was a water main break that disabled some of the restrooms. Staff worked very hard to repair system

Quiet, tucked off campsite! Had no problems, check in was very easy! We did most of our hiking around Big Meadows campground (loved Bearfence trail the most), but just make sure to account for the time it takes to drive from place to place! The park is beautiful and big! Not much phone signal unless you’re at overlooks.

Bathrooms were an issue the entire visit. They were locked and unusable at times. Very inconvenient. Toilets couldn’t flush. It was a mess.
The location was great for hiking. No showers, but you can wash off in the restrooms if they were open.
