Very nice, spacious campsites. Clean facilities and super nice hosts. Just remember no electric hook ups or cell service!

One of the most pristine campsites I’ve ever been to.
So peaceful and most of the sites right beside a rushing stream which sounded so beautiful all day and night.
The trees are old growth and the canopy is amazing.
I really enjoyed swimming in the icy cold lake because I love swimming and icy cold water! Lol

This trip was not the experience I have normally had at this campground. Had a confrontation with a very disrepectful volunteer host. One bad egg in the bunch Totally Ruined the trip for me. Normally the Campground has excellent volunteers, the bath house is extremely clean. Sies are nice, going on second season with NO bathhouse at the Lake... not a good thing. Near Natural Bridge State Park.

We loved our experience at Cave Mountain Campgrounds. The volunteer hosts were so friendly and helpful. We loved the creek that ran behind our campsite. I never like to visit a campground more than once, but this is one I'd camp at again. It was a peaceful few days. Bonus: a beautiful lake with swimming and fishing and hiking trails.

We had a grand time. The bathroom was spotless everyday and the hosts were great. The campground was beautiful with nice sized sites that gave a lot of privacy. The lake is small but very clean and we loved watching the children play in the water. I will go back to this campground.

Love it at Cave Mountain Lake. Sites are nice, distanced well from one another. We even saw some deer in the evening and early morning. Campground hosts are friendly. Bath houses are clean. We've only done the Panther Knob hike & really enjoyed that. The lake is also beautiful. Coming back for our 4th stay In October! Can't recommend it enough!

This campground was one of the nicest Forest Service campgrounds we have stayed at. It’s a short drive off I-81; all the sites are spacious and level with a decent separation between them; the main bathhouse was clean with flush toilets, hot water, and showers; and the on-site hosts were welcoming and kept the grounds immaculate. Firewood was not available for sale in the campground, but camp wood is readily available for purchase along the roads leading to the site - so make sure you buy some before you check in. As our visit was in April, we didn’t get a chance to swim in the pretty lake but it looked like it would be very refreshing in the warm weather. We look forward to coming back here again to explore the many hiking spots in this region.

Great way to escape for a few days. Kids had a great time creating their own adventures, even just around the campsite. Missed the pond being stocked though. Just a FYI, if you go pre stock there is nothing in there. The drain the lake in the off-season down to the stream. Bring some wood cutting tools as there is no logs for purchase on site, but fallen trees are free game. Also a short drive to Natural Bridge State Park.

The campground and surrounding areas are beautiful! The sites are very large, wooded, great distance between each other. There are multiple bathrooms and hot water showers. The entire grounds are very clean and youll arrive to a spotless campsite. The lake is lovely (dont miss the opportunity to walk "around the back" of the spillway for a gorgeous look at the rock formations!) as is the beach, picnic areas, and there's a stream that runs through the entire camp!
However, in my experience, there is extreme lack of communication between volunteers who "run" the campground. The gate house is unoccupied and there are no instructions for checking in. Day three someone came by and told me I needed to have a parking pass in my vehicle and asked me if it was my site. Twice someone was walking by and told me that my dog needed to be on a leash. Please bear in mind these folks had zero identification or clothing that made them known as volunteers. I was a bit perturbed by random people telling me what to do without first making known who they were! There is zero cell phone service so when I left home I gave friends my site number so they could meet me there. They never showed up! Actually they did, and left, because it turns out one of the volunteers took my name/reservation off the site post and put up the next occupants name. I still had three days left on the site andvthe next group wasn't arriving until two days after I left. So my friends drove three hours to camp a few days but when they arrived and my vehicle was not there (I'd gone to hike elsewhere) and someone else's name was at the site they went home. With no cell service we couldn't communicate about it.
I'm not sure I can recommend this place or will ever return. But the campground itself is lovely and there are ample things to do nearby such as; devil's marbleyard, jellystone water park, natural bridge and caverns, and natural bridge zoo/safari park!
