Oak Ridge Campground was an excellent choice as a place to camp. I enjoyed my 3-nights stay very much. It’s a great family campground as long as your objective is to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The activities are nature based like hiking, bicycling and enjoying the outdoors. There is only one bar of signal for your cell phone, so if you’re glued to your phone as your only form of entertainment, you may be disappointed. One bar of service supports text and phone calls, but not videos.
The sites are nice and large so the campers were spread out. I liked the privacy the sites offered. In addition, the tent site was raised and made of pea-size gravel, so when it rains the water drains away from the tent.
The only thing I would change would be the availability of trash and recycle dumpsters. There were no dumpsters on C-Loop and the nearest ones were at the beginning of the B-Loop. The only other dumpsters were at the entrance to the campground. Finding them were a challenge and if another camper hadn’t found the ones on B-Loop, I would have never known where to dispose of my trash—it’s a well kept secret.
All in all, I loved the campground and plan to go back soon.

Good campsite and a decent campground given its proximity to DC suburbs and Quantico. A good jumping off place for hiking and activities in the larger park.
Pros:
Great flat, sandy area for a tent.
Most of the site was shaded by tall oak trees; light rain didn't make it through the canopy, keeping me dry at the picnic table and at the tent.
C loop bathrooms and water pump are relatively close
Showers in B loop were fairly clean and had lots of hot water
Close to the Farms to Forest trailhead
Cell service good enough to make a phone call and send texts
Cons:
Can still hear traffic (sirens, trucks, motorcycles) from Joplin road
Long walk to dumpsters and showers
Sites are close to your neighbors, which can get really noisy
If I stay at this campground again, I will probably choose something in B loop.

This site was excellent! It was set back from the road which gave a lot of privacy and is quite far from the nearest neighbor on any side. The only slight issue is the site isn’t very level, but only minimally at a downward slope. If you pitch your tent correctly, you’ll sleep with your feet below your head. Thankfully, I paid attention! The site is a short walk to a clean bathroom with hot water. The shower is a bit of a walk, but hey, it’s free and has hot water, a rarity in national park campgrounds! Plenty of trails to enjoy, though I spent this weekend just relaxing at the site with the peace and quiet of this great campground!
