Anvil Campground

Our family enjoyed this campground so much! I would recommend if you have kids and appreciate the family vibes Anvil provides. The pool, playground and the camp store was our kids favorite out of all other campgrounds. I personally appreciated the customer service and how well the staff was always so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

This is a very nice campground. The bathrooms are up to date and clean. Gravel sites with fhu. The pool looked nice although we didn't use it. Good campstore and laundry is available. There is a city bus stop at the entrance for easy transportation to Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement. Half price discount for old folks riding the bus. The staff here are extremely helpful with their knowledge of seeing the sites. Trains going by on the tracks beside the cg are quite noisy, but it didn't bother us. We actually enjoy trains. There is also good wifi and AT&T cell service.

My husband, daughter, dog, & I loved our time camping in our van at Anvil! Ray was so kind & helpful, working & cleaning the entire time with a smile on his face. The free coffee/doughnuts, game room, & heated pool were all awesome too! And the bathrooms are super clean. The camp store also had so many useful items in case you forgot something. We will definitely be back!

This campground has been the absolute best yet, my kids and I love the train it’s our favorite part, beyond clean and the staff and owners are so beyond friendly always greeting with smiles! The arcade I didn’t go into for awhile bcs most the times in campgrounds they aren’t as “fun” but I walked in and there is endless games and activities me my husband and kids loved it! Yes there is noise from the train but we love it and it’s actually very peaceful and quiet around here very safe feeling and at home like. I could go on and on but I’ll leave it with this it’s a very clean family friendly campsite and with its location is just the best! If your a family with children this is the campsite to be in it will not disappoint!❤️🚂

We’re an active RV family, and when planning our trip to the Williamsburg, VA area, we searched for a great campground close to the local attractions. The reviews led us to Anvil—and we’re so glad they did!

This place was outstanding. Easy to get to, simple in-and-out access, and perfect for families. The arcade was a huge hit with the kids, packed with great games, board games, and more—and it was included. The staff was incredibly friendly and super helpful when we had questions about parks and tickets.

Like always, we forgot a few things, but the camp store had everything we thought we brought. Big plus!

We’ll definitely be back in the spring. The campground is small—but not too small—so you get space and privacy without feeling crowded like you do at some of the huge resorts. The sites here are laid out really well with plenty of room to move around.
