About Big Creek (gifford Pinchot National Forest, Wa)

Situated in the vicinity of majestic Mount Rainier, Big Creek is a family campground nestled among Douglas firs, hemlock, alders and maples. The lush vegetation offers plenty of privacy between sites. The sites at Big Creek form a loop, with only a handful of sites sitting along the banks of Big Creek. Open from mid-May through late September, Big Creek provides an alternative to the campgrounds at Mount Rainier National Park, which can get very crowded during the summer.

We chose this campground because it is close to Mt Rainier and reservable. Lots of foliage gives privacy, vault toilets were clean and the camp hosts were friendly. Would definitely stay again.

The campground was quiet and beautiful. We booked a group site without knowing it, because it was the last option available. Beware that the sites that are more expensive are likely group sites!

Everything was just as advertised. The campground was clean, and the vault toilets were as clean as could be expected. We saw mule deer roaming the campground in the morning. It was lovely.

This campsite is amazing. Awesome creek and campgrounds were spread out so we couldn’t even see our neighbors from our site. Super clean bathrooms as well
